Bratton Center, Inc (BCI) was established in 2008 to provide property management services for Bratton Center’s affordable housing communities. Today, Bratton Center manages hundreds of properties across the United States for multiple ownership groups with a wide variety of product, regulatory and population types. The number of senior citizens is increasing at the fastest rate ever seen in our country’s history. As one of the nation’s largest developers and owners of senior housing, Bratton Center addresses senior housing needs by providing affordable housing that is with services that seek to improve and maintain the status of older adults in terms of their personal economic development, health, and community engagement.
According to the National Coalition for the Homeless two trends are largely responsible for the rise in homelessness over the past 20-25 years: a growing shortage of affordable rental housing and a simultaneous increase in poverty. Persons living in poverty are most at risk of becoming homeless, and demographic groups who are more likely to experience poverty are also more likely to experience homelessness.
Thousands of veterans in America are homeless – in fact 1 in 5 homeless individuals in America are veterans. Additionally, a large number of displaced and at-risk veterans live with lingering effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
With the increasing number of returning veterans in need of affordable housing, Bratton Center is looking at how we can best serve this segment of the population. Bratton Center is partnering with veteran organizations throughout the country to develop service enriched supportive housing for homeless veterans.
According to HUD, 62,619 veterans are homeless on any given night. However, over the course of a year, approximately twice that many experience homelessness at
one time.
Bratton Center provides a variety of different affordable housing options, but our main types of housing include multifamily, senior (age 65+)
Bratton Center provides permanent housing, and does not offer emergency or temporary housing at this time.
